Rik Emmett, lead singer and Hall of Fame guitarist of Triumph will be taking the stage for an acoustic night of Triumph music at the Capitol Theatre in Chatham on Saturday April 21, 2012. The concert will take place after a full day Songwriters Workshop for aspiring musicians, led by Emmett.
Emmett will be hitting the Capitol Theatre stage at 8pm for an Acoustic Night of Triumph Hits. He will be accompanied by Emmy-winning composer and musician Don Breithaupt to present classic hits such as “Lay It On The Line”, “Magic Power”, “Hold On” and “Suitcase Blues” in a way you’ve never heard before.
Rik Emmett gained international notoriety as the lead singer/songwriter/guitarist for the Canadian Rock band Triumph. Four gold & platinum decades in the music biz have provided entry into the Canadian Rock Hall of Fame, the Music Industry Hall of Fame and the Junos Hall of Fame, with a few ‘Best Guitarist’ awards in various categories garnered along the way.
Preceding the concert, from 10am-4pm, aspiring musicians can attend a Songwriters Workshop led by Emmett. The workshop will feature valuable information about music composition, lyric writing, and the business of songwriting, with the highlight of the day being the “Demo Makeover” which will provide an opportunity for musicians to get honest feedback on their demo songs from industry professionals.
For music lovers who would like to attend both the workshop and the concert, there is a combined ticket price of $30 plus HST & facility fees. You can purchase this combo ticket on the “Songwriters Workshop” page.
Rik is taking a hiatus from touring. Any updates will be posted here as soon as they are available.
